Thousands of business books are published every year— Here are the best of the best
After years of reading, evaluating, and selling business books, Jack Covert and Todd Sattersten are among the most respected experts on the category. Now they have chosen and reviewed the one hundred best business titles of all time—the ones that deliver the biggest payoff for today’s busy readers.
The 100 Best Business Books of All Time puts each book in context so that readers can quickly find solutions to the problems they face, such as how best to spend The First 90 Days in a new job or how to take their company from Good to Great. Many of the choices are surprising—you’ll find reviews of Moneyball and Orbiting the Giant Hairball, but not Jack Welch’s memoir.
At the end of each review, Jack and Todd direct readers to other books both inside and outside The 100 Best. And sprinkled throughout are sidebars taking the reader beyond business books, suggesting movies, novels, and even children’s books that offer equally relevant insights.
This guide will appeal to anyone, from entry-level to CEO, who wants to cut through the clutter and discover the brilliant books that are truly worth their investment of time and money.

The 100 Best Business Books of all Time
If you are in business for yourself, and you do not read daily from this book, then you are losing customers and money. This book has brief concise 2-3 page chapters
packed with wisdom from the best books on marketing and business out there. Reading and absorbing one chapter a day, or even every few days, will give you the cutting edge over competitors. It makes thinking outside the box much easier. This book was
not a choice pick by me--Amazon recommended it to me to get to free shipping. Thank you Amazon. This book should be on your desk and used frequently. The reading sparks ideas that aid in the selling process--and we all know how important sales are in today's climate.

Why the need for the obvious black remainder mark???
Despite the fact this hardcover edition was released barely over a years ago, it has already been classified as an Amazon Bargain Book. This is usually an honor reserved for so-so books but this book has been roundly lauded by critics, bloggers, even my friends. Don't misunderstand me... bargain books are GREAT from a price perspective...but I bought this as a birthday gift for a friend and was really disappointed when I saw the in my face black remainder mark on the bottom page edges. When I reviewed the product description, I did indeed see that Amazon cautioned that there might be a small publisher's mark, but I missed this little caveat and didn't expect it on a brand new book so recently released. If I'd have caught the disclaimer, I'd have spent the extra few bucks for a truly new copy of the book that is also available on Amazon for the gift. Then I'd have bought a beat up used copy for myself.

A worthy buy
I highly recommend this book. I use it as a reference on which book I should read next. The book gives you a to-the-point summary on the many worthy selections in different categories: e.g.
1 YOU
2 LEADERSHIP
3 STRATEGY
4 SALES & MARKETING
5 RULES & SCOREKEEPING
6 MANAGEMENT
7 BIOGRAPHIES
8 ENTREPRENEURSHIP
9 NARRATIVES
10 INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY
11 BIG IDEAS
12 TAKEWAYS
I personally picked up a lot of books after reading the summaries. If you are looking into a book that saves you time from reading 100 books... you can also pick this book up, however, to get the most out of the book(s), I recommend reading the book(s).

Just what I had been looking for
Thank you Jack and Todd. Finally, I found a book that compiles the best of the best in a meaningful and thoughtful way. This book is very well organized with twelve chapters on twelve pertinent business topics to choose from depending on your area of interest. There is something here for everyone whether you are trying to solve a business problem, increase your depth of knowledge or strengthen your skillset.
The first chapter is the all important YOU followed by leadership, strategy, sales & marketing, rules and scorekeeping -- well you will just have to read it. I loved the fact that with only a couple of exceptions the books recommended were under 300 pages. Given our premium on time, that was a plus. However much we are interested in the topic, so many business books contain unnecessary filler material.
Some of these books you will have read as part of your MBA experience but this presents an opportunity to revisit some of those messages you may want to refresh. I was impressed by the fact that they even included children's books such as "Oh, the Places you will go" and some fables. That reminded me of that other book: "Everything I Ever Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". How true that is. Including side bars recommending additional books, movies and even speeches further enhanced the experience.
I downloaded this book onto my kindle. While I was reading it, if I ran across a compelling book based on their review, I simply downloaded a sample to see if indeed I wanted to buy it, add to my wishlist or save for another time. I am currently reading "Chasing Daylight." What a story and a message that contains!

Its an advertisement
I was hoping for a summary of the best business books, so I didn't have to read them, or at least would only bother to read the ones I was more interested in. However, this book is basically 100 ads for other books, in addition to an ad for the author's book company. The descriptions of the books aren't anything more informative then the back cover of the book. You'd be better off just reading the amazon descriptions of the books listed instead of reading this book.

Tremendously valuable resource
As the author, John Harrington, writes in the book, most colleges and photography schools spend precious little time (if any at all) teaching students about the business side of photography. As it turns out, running a successful photography business requires much more than just the ability to take good pictures. Setting prices, negotiating contracts, managing employees, licensing, balancing work and family, etc. - it all plays a role, and this book helps you do it. It's absolutely packed with useful information and advice. Anyone serious about having stable, long-term success in the photography industry should consider owning this book. It has opened my eyes to aspects of the business that I either would not have thought of on my own, or learned the hard way through regrettable errors.
The bottom line is, photography is a life-long journey, and to make a living at it requires skill, talent, supportive family and friends, and a good mind for business. Use schooling and practice to develop your skill, find ways to inspire and focus your talent, thank and love your family and friends...and use this book to help hone your business.

Must have book for photographers!
This is definitely a must have for pros and those looking to go pro...or anyone looking to get paid for their photographs in some capacity.
This book is full of necessary information and has caused me to increase my prices within the first day of reading it. And I came into a situation where knowledge from reading this book saved me from a bad business decision. Definitely paid for itself within the first week of owning it!

Great resource!
I'm slowly working my way through this book but as an aspiring self-employed photographer it has been invaluable help with getting me on the right track with pricing, contracts and overall client relations. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to break out on their own!

Comprehensive, well written book
A very comprehensive (if not a bit too comprehensive in some areas) and well written book. Although Mr Harrington prefaces the book by stating it is written for the established professional photographer -- in my opinion, anyone even considering going pro should read this book first. It gave me a much better idea of the legal pitfalls of this profession that I was not originally aware of, which will allow me to put processes in place even before my website is up, in order to avoid potential future problems.

Can't read on Kindle app on iPhone or iPad???
I would love to buy this book and read it within my Kindle app on the ipad and iPhone. I looks like that is not an option and it can only be viewed on the specific Kindle device.
Show me how I can give you money.

Trying to find a good and ‘up to date’ property investing book can be quite a challenge. There is nothing worse than reading a property investing book that refers to property prices that are half what the current day values are. In my experience I have found that sometimes a good general investment book can be of just as much use as a specialist property investment book. Most real estate investors are actively investing in other areas so having a book that discusses real estate investing in relation to the stock market etc. can be very beneficial.What to look for in a property investing book?
The best property investing books should be written in an easy to follow – step by step fashion. It is no good if the reader finishes the book but still doesn’t feel like they have the confidence to start building their property portfolio. At times the facts and figures involved with property can become quite tiresome so it is also vital that the writer can deliver the information in a fun and entertaining way. Let’s have a closer look at three of the all time great property investing books.
More Wealth from Residential Property – Jan Somers
A fantastic property investing book that covers all aspects of how to purchase residential property. It literally covers every stage and detail that you need to know when buying your first (or 10th) investment property. Jan Somers writes in an honest and fun way and she doesn’t forget that most of the people reading her book probably haven’t ever bought an investment property before. There is a chapter that talks about renting vs. buying the house you live in and Jan mentions the fact that living in your own house can have great mental advantages that don’t come into consideration when you only look at the figures. This is a refreshing view point from a property investing professional as I often find that the writers of these property investing books can loose touch with reality but definitely not Jan Somers.
What I Didn’t Learn at School but Wish I Had – Jamie McIntyre
This book is a more general investing book but it covers some great real estate strategies. The first half of Jamie McIntyre’s book concentrates on the mental aspects of becoming a successful investor. He calls it developing the mindset of a millionaire. It is easy to want to skip over this section of the book but I promise you that if you haven’t developed your mental investing muscles then no matter how many great strategies you have you will find it hard to succeed. Whilst Jan Somers book goes into the real ‘nuts and bolts’ of Real estate investing this book covers some more elaborate and interesting strategies.
Go For Your Life – Chris Grey
This is a very underestimated book that didn’t receive anywhere near as many accolades as it deserved. It is basically a combination of the above two property investing books. It shows how Chris slowly bought the 6 investment properties that he currently owns.
You might be saying “6 properties – that’s not enough to write a book!” But this is the exact reason why it is such a great book. He explains how you don’t need to own 100 houses to be a successful real estate investor and enjoy the luxuries of life. By owning a handful of properties he has been able to obtain his dream lifestyle. So there you have it 3 great property investing books that you should definitely read before or after you start building your property empire.
All of them are filled with great property investing tips and secrets that will help you achieve your goals. The only thing missing from these books and form every property investing book ever written is the magic ingredient that makes you actually put the strategies into action. You will need to find that yourself! You can read as many books as you like but if you don’t ever take some action then you won’t ever achieve the success that you would like.
So what are you waiting for? Start taking action today by reading one of these books and then when you are armed with the required knowledge take the next step and start your investing career.

Happy Investing
If you are looking for a great way to make some money for your future, you should seriously consider investing. After all, making an investment today can result in a great payoff in the future – particularly if you know the best place to invest money and if you know how to choose the best investments.
Do It the Warren Buffet Way
Before you start looking for the best place to invest money, you need to know how to select the right investments. Take a lesson from Warren Buffet and buy stock while the price is down and then sell it once the price goes back up. When the stock of an excellent company is down, there is no better time to purchase your share. A good business will be able to generate cash flow from year to year. So, if you purchase stock from that company at 50% of its value, you will earn quite a bit of money in the future when you sell the stock later. Always remember that the best time to invest is in a bear market and then to hold it until it is a bull market again.
Turning to the Internet When Buying
When it comes to finding the best place to invest money, it is a good idea to turn to the Internet to help you conduct your research. There are so many different stocks on the market that it really is beneficial to use a screening tool to help you filter out the ones that are good. A good screening tool to use is the one at Zacks.com (http://www.zacks.com/screening/custom/index.php).
At Zacks.com, you can select from a variety of different screening criteria and you can set specific values to each one so you can filter out the stocks that fit the criteria you are interested in. These criteria you can filter include:
* P/E (Trailing 12 months)
* Annualized 5 Yr. Historical EPS Growth
* 5 Year Historical Sales Growth
* Sales Growth
* Price/Book
* ROI (5 year average)
After you fill out the values you are looking for in your stock, the screening tool will bring back a list of companies. You can then analyze them each and determine which ones are the best investment options. Of course, the process will still take some time, but the time is well spent and you will be focusing only on those companies that are promising investments.
With the simplicity of the site, it is easily qualifies as one of the best places to determine where you should invest your money. In order to help you learn more about the stocks you are considering purchasing, however, you should also turn to moneycentral.msn.com. Here, you can manually analyze the financial data of the company you are considering investing in.
If you want the financial information to be analyzed automatically for you, on the other hand, you might want to visit www.stock2own.com. This site will help you better determine the best place to invest money so you have the greatest chance of making a successful investment.
